Status: Abandoned development.

Pros: A quirky interface that replaces tabs and the traditional drawer that some find fascinating; IRC support since time began.

Cons: All but one of the software libraries that power Fire have ceased development, leaving Fire all but rudderless, should someone decide to resume development.

Review: Version 1.5.6 was Fire's swan song and sadly, due to it's age, this application no longer works on Apple's more recent operating systems (the latest verified supported system is Tiger). Interestingly, there is a 2.0 version circulating the net, but I'm damned if I can find it! Fire supports (if you can still run it) AIM, ICQ, IRC, Jabber (including Google Talk), MSN, Bonjour and Yahoo! instant messenger protocols.
